SHYAM MADIRAJU

Writer/Director/Restless Tinkerer/Founder

Creative director, graphic designer, photographer, teacher, tech entrepreneur, commercials director, film producer, screenwriter, feature director and a poker player, Shyam could open a store with all the hats he’s worn through his 30-year creative career. Having worked at some of the most creatively respected agencies in the world like The Martin Agency, Goodby, and Chiat (where he created the G logo for Gatorade) and winning numerous advertising awards over years, he switched sides in 2005 to pursue a life-long dream of directing. In 2006, he won the ‘New Director of the Year’ award at the Cannes Ad festival and was named by ‘Shoot’ and ‘Shots’ magazine the same year as a directorial talent to watch. In 2015 ‘CAKE’ a film he developed garnered Jennifer Anniston her first Golden Globe nomination.

In 2016, Shyam founded Germ Collective, a platform for diverse but like-minded global creative voices to combine forces and create highly unique, non-traditional content for brands across the globe.
